Avaza is the national tourist zone stretched along the coast of the Caspian Sea in the city of the Turkmenbashi.

A huge resort area “Avaza” is a modern tourist Paradise with lots of white marble hotels, upscale hotels and recreation centres complexes cottages for family vacations, guest houses, sanatoriums and health resorts for children and adults. Sea resort full of various objects rich infrastructure.

For the first time plans for transformation of edge and creation here in the territory in 5 thousand hectares of the national tourist zone  were read by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in May, 2007. Very few people assumed that on the place of the remote housing estate in only 5-7 years the resort of a world class will be built.

The huge territory has already built more than 30 (out of a planned 60) luxury hotels, resorts, guest houses, cottage villages, the new international airport of Turkmenbashi city, water maker with capacity of 35 thousand cubic metres of fresh water per day. Energy heart of the entire tourist zone was 250 MW gas turbine power plant.

A man-made river channel, 7 km wide, was created, which is the center of a huge entertainment and health complex. Granite four-meter wide canal sidewalks, winding along a picturesque landscape amid the alleys of ornamental trees, past cozy cafes and bars create a promenade zone overlooking the sea embankment. There are also paths for cycling.

In walking distance from the man-made river there are four large sports complexes with fields and playgrounds for sports games, stands, changing rooms, showers, massage rooms. Eight restaurants, six cafes and fourteen bars are located on the picturesque embankments, decorated with openwork grilles and hundreds of stylized antique lanterns. Water in the channel through a bizarre cascade of waterfalls is fed by a powerful pumping system. In October 2010, the Avaza embankment was decorated with sea fountains-geysers from 40 to 100 meters in height and a park ensemble of interactive fountains, as well as leisure facilities and an amphitheater for mass celebrations, a 100-meter flagpole. Over an area of ​​1300 hectares planted more than 30 thousand trees and ornamental shrubs. Watering is carried out by drip irrigation systems. The best Yacht Club in the Caspian was put into operation.
