In 6 km from Dakhistan there is an ancient burial Mashad – a Muslim necropolis with the located Ali ibn Sukkari’s mausoleum, known in the center, or Shir-Kabeer.

This monument of architecture can be carried to classical serakhsky zodchesky school. It was constructed in the 10th century AD. Its walls decorated fancy patterns with curls and vegetable motives, inscriptions and ornaments of blue, red and pistachio colors.

Shir-Kabeer call the mosque “on wooden columns”. It is the oldest of the mosques which remained in the territory of Turkmenistan. And focused on Mecca unique carved mihrab (chapel), consisting of three niches entered each other, says that this mausoleum, first of all, was used as the mosque, but not just as a tomb.
